Hello

I'm so glad you found me here in Arkansas! My name is Kristina, and by day I am an American History teacher, but as soon as that bell rings, I become a farmhouse fanatic, decor diva, and lover of all things vintage. I am married to my husband Shawn of 14 years, and we have two grown children. Makayla is our daughter who lives close by and works in marketing, and Brayden, our son, is currently serving in the US Army.  I plan to share with you my inspirations, vintage finds, and projects that will hopefully spark your inner DIY and inspire you to make your home a cozy place.

My Story

I have always had great (expensive) taste in everything. You name it: food, clothing, perfume, home decor, furniture, cars and the list goes on. The problem with that is that I, like most people, don't have the budget to maintain all the fancier things in life. Don't get me wrong, we are very blessed with what we have, but that still doesn't keep me from looking at all the pretty things. Many years ago, I had a friend that was always painting, redoing and updating old furniture pieces. As I sat back and observed, I began thinking I too could do this. I started out with small things like spray painting a shelf a different color or using burlap or raffia to spruce something up a bit. Baby steps.

Fast forward to the age of the internet and the possibilities have become almost endless and not to mention the birth of FB marketplace! Can I get an amen? Thus is where my furniture flipping comes in. Ah! I love FB marketplace! It has truly become a challenge to me to take an inspiration picture, find something similar that I can work with and turn it into a quality and updated piece of furniture! As my projects have gotten more involved, I sometimes have to invoke the help of my husband to do some of the "fixing" and figuring out part. I basically come up with the ideas, set them into motion, and then ask nicely for help on the parts I am not sure about. Shawn is pretty good about helping me with my crazy ideas and is a great handy man at that. Take a look at my Projects page to see some of those ideas brought to life. There, I have inspiration pictures, the thrift find, and the updated piece. I will continue adding projects as they are completed, so that you too may be inspired!

After refinishing a furniture piece, there's only one thing left to do. Decorate! And so my love of vintage finds comes in here. Decorating is simply adding the finishing touches to a room or even a piece of furniture. What do you do when you get a new sideboard or hutch? You make it yours, you make it cozy by decorating it with your favorite finds! You can see some of my favorite finds here and also see how I have used them in my home to create that warm feeling when you walk inside. Thanks for visiting my site, and I hope you leave inspired!

Much Love,
