Floor Plan, Land, and the Bones

Ok, so talking about the land and the floor plan definitely aren't the most exciting part of the journey, but for sure one of the most important for us. Our kids are grown, and we have entered the "empty nester" phase of life. This home was to be our dream home, and final destination for us to someday retire in and enjoy the rest of life together. We chose a 1 acre, wooded lot about a mile down the road from the lake. We love boating in the summer, and have always spent a lot of time at the lake, so why not live closer to it? Next,  we had to work with our builder to make sure the house plan we had chosen would work with this lot. It was a tight fit because of the odd shape of our lot, but it would work the way we wanted it to sit on the lot. The lot did have more of a slope than we first thought, which you will see the lovely Arkansas red dirt that we had to bring in to build up the pad.
